 It was indeed a whale of a time with bloggers as they unleash their chef skills in food plating and presentation at Fish & Co. and Yehey's Prep up the Platter Bloggers' Event last March 12, 2009, 3PM onwards at the Fish & Co. Shangri-La Mall
In the Prep Up the Platter Challenge, these bloggers were tasked to utilize 500 pesos in budget and take a grocery quest for their food plating ingredients and garnishes.
Taking photos is not allowed of course in the grocery premises but, what's a Fishparazzi to do? :p
After their ingredients- hunt, the bloggers immediately went back to their Fish & Co. headquarters and started to food plate their respective Around the World Platter comprising of Fish & Co. Fish and Chips world flavors such as Japanese, Malaysian,Indian and Philadelphia.
In this challenge, the bloggers were turned into ambassadors of Food will, and set sailed with flags of their assigned flavors atop their platter masterpieces.
 But bloggers need not fret because everyone went home a winner thanks to the consolation treats from Fish & Co. And the great catch doesn't stop there. Fish & Co. extends the challenge to all the Prep Up the Platter Participants where an exclusive treat from Fish & Co. awaits the team who will accumulate the most number of comments in their Fish & Co. blog entries. “Inside the (brilliant) Mind Of Urbandub”
This city has heard enough of music which speaks in tongues. Of music and lyrics forced to be in a commercialized union, yet ranting to be annulled. Amidst the clamoring crowd resonated a rarity of truth, love, nostalgia intertwined with melodic waves which have continued to bind the heart, mind and soul of the Filipino listener.
From the transcendent, powerful voice and lyrics of Gabby Alipe, the captivating bass strums of Lalay Lim, life-giving adeptness of John Dinopol’s guitar oeuvre, and the heart-pounding beats of drummer Janjan Mendoza- Urbandub, the frontliners of Pinoy rock movement from the Giant South, commanded time to yield at the Eastwood City Central Plaza, last February 27, 2009. The boisterous crowd was suddenly held captive, locked jaw in musical amazement as Urbandub takes rock, love and musical artistry to a higher ground.
“In the arms of another”
Now officially “in the arms of another”, Urbandub’s flight to home has finally landed to their new record label, MCA Music.
“Since we’re under a new label, definitely we’re comin up with a new album. Actually we’re going home to Cebu for two months, in April. We’re gonna set up a studio so we’re just gonna stay there and write the music and we hope that by the end of the year maka-release na ng album.” vocalist Gabby Alipe shares with Yehey.com on an interview at Dub is in the Air.
Awakened from a long hibernation, Urbandub seals an honest promise to the dubistas of stronger and better musical offerings, which will again leave everyone in profession of their musical faith to the band’s love for ingenuity in rock music.
“Anywhere, with you”The Urbandub contagion can never stop its dispersal, and will continue to leave a mark that will definitely be “anywhere, with you”. When asked about the significance of the Urbandub insignia, vocalist Gabby Alipe announces, “It comes to play with the [merchandise] we’re gonna put up. Something lang to reconnect us with the fans. We’ve been gone din kase for a long time…”
 “Sailing” : Urbandub gets the world “dubbed”
Urbandub has indeed alerted the armory of listeners with their heart-pounding rock rhythms and mind-blowing performances. With almost 10,000 albums sold, it is no doubt that the orgasmic line-up of songs in euphoric albums make them overly worthy of awards such as the “2003 Best Song of the Year”, “2004 Album of the year”, “2006 Vocalist of the Year”, “2008 Listeners Choice” and recently honored in Singapore as the “Junk Sounds Best Group”.
As their reach gets global, Urbandub is very much hopeful to spread the infectious passion in songwriting and will continue to be the “heroes of Pinoy indie rock”, only now on a bigger stage—the world. “Hopefully, by the end of the year or by early next year we can start traveling again… Mga main goal naming yun eh, go to Malaysia, go back to Singapore.” says Urbandub.
“An Invitation”
From the most critically-acclaimed band that has earth-shaken the grounds of the Queen City of the South comes an invitation for a never-ending soul-searching to musical perfection. So towards Urbandub’s greater goal, is a statement, rather, a profession of their love for music above anything else. Gabby Alipe says, “For us music lang talaga. We just wanted to create music keep putting up our music, kung ano gusto naming sabihin-- mas maraming maka-relate samen…usually yung themes namen all about love, heartbreak. This time we wanna explore more mga iba ibang music.”
“The fight is over”
It was never a competition for Urbandub to be in a playing field with other Pinoy artists. Hence, the group humbly bows honor and recognition to the abundance in Filipino musical talent. Urbandub has already made a collaboration with vocalist Kat Agarrado in the song, “Inside the Mind of a Killer”, a powerful track in their 2007 album, Under Southern Lights, and is open for more collaborations in the future.
Gabby Alipe shares, “We’re always open naman to that eh. Marami kaseng magagaling na mga artists,one reason na rin kung bakit pag may mga award shows parang “ahh. Sila na mananalo” Marami kaming tinitingalang mga artists na we wanna work with. Hopefully kung gusto nila kaming katrabaho.”
A broader vision, a more fueled passion and a much louder clamor of Dubistas behind their lead—with these Urbandub proudly marches on, reengineering music that transcends various musical influences in unique mixtures of creative experimentation and maturity in songwriting and exemplary rhythmic creation.
